Caltrans hosts public meeting on corridor projects


EUREKA/ARCATA, CA. (KIEM) – For those who travel along the 101 Corridor between Arcata and Eureka Caltrans District 1 has some big plans to improve safety for drivers and pedestrians.

Tuesday evening, members of the community gathered at the Wharfinger building in Eureka, to hear the latest on several proposed changes to the highway. Including a undercrossing at the Indianola Cutoff and a half signal at Airport Road, acceleration and deceleration lane improvements, a cable median barrier, and many other projects aimed to reduce delays at intersections, improve safety, and rehabilitate the existing route.

According to Caltrans District 1 construction is currently anticipated to being in 20-21.
