Community Holds Bake Sale Fundraiser For 4th Grade Girl Battling Cancer

MCKINLEYVILLE (KIEM) – A fourth grader in McKinleyville is battling cancer and the community is coming together to help her and her family.

Lynette Stratton is a student at Morris Elementary. Earlier this year, she was diagnosed with cancer. Lynette and her family travels to UCSF for treatment weekly.

To help the family with expenses, community members have been donating hundreds of dollars. Lynette’s teacher, Heidi Conzelmann, describes Lynette as a bright, fun, and friendly girl.

At todays bake sale alone, they raised around two hundred dollars.

Anyone who would like to make a donation, can drop it off to the Morris Elementary school office.
