McKinleyville woman arrested for fatal hit-and-run crash

MCKINLEYVILLE, Ca (KIEM)- The man who died in a fatal hit-and-run  crash Saturday morning in McKinleyville has been identified as 47 year-old Clinton Eugene Deckert of McKinleyville.

According to the California Highway Patrol, 25 year-old Shala Marie Bianco, also of McKinleyville, was driving a Toyota RAV 4 on Central Avenue. Police say the driver made an unsafe right turn and struck Deckert while he was walking on the east shoulder of the roadway. Police say Bianco then drove off at a high rate of speed. 

The driver eventually did notify authorities she was involved. Bianco was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol and vehicular manslaughter.
