Tips on how You can Stay Safe During the Fourth of July Celebration

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM) – If you’re planning to head out and watch the fireworks or have a fun-filled family barbecue, the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind you to stay safe.

The Sheriff’s Office says, fireworks are not permitted on county parks or beaches and to leave those at home.

But if you do plan to discharge them in your neighborhood, make sure they are Safe and Sane approved.

If you’re near the water, be alert of fast moving currents.

If you’re plan to head to areas with a large crowd, keep your kids close. Make sure you have an updated picture of your child or consider putting a temporary ID label.

The Sheriff’s Office Says, if you see anything suspicious or anything out of the ordinary to contact law enforcement right away.
