Waterfront Drive Project Construction to Kick Off in Eureka

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) — The long awaited Waterfront Drive project kicks off construction next week. There will be road closures for the duration of construction from G Street to J Street in Old Town Eureka.

Work will be performed between the hours of 7 am and 6 pm daily. The city advises drivers to take alternate routes and asks for everyone’s patience during construction.

The project has been in the works for years. Its goal is to close the gap in the road between Humboldt Towing and Caito Fisheries. It will feature two travel lanes, bike lanes, and a sidewalk on the north side of the road.

Construction is planned to continue up until the end of October. Residents can expect things to look a lot different once completed.
