City of Arcata to discuss update for city’s ADA Transition Plan

Arcata, Ca., (KIEM) Last week we reported on a story that involved a report by the Humboldt County Grand Jury stating that county building’s are not compliant with The Americans With Disabilities Act.

On Wednesday, the city of Arcata will have a public hearing on their city’s ADA Transition Plan.

According to reports, The Americans With Disabilities Act requires all public agencies to develop facilities accessible for persons with disabilities. 

The ADA Transition Plan outlines the ways in which jurisdiction should transition toward compliance with the ADA.

Arcata City Staff is asking for the council to receive public input on the update for the city’s ADA Transition Plan.

The Arcata City Council will be on Wednesday, July 17 at 6 PM in the Council Chambers.
