Man arrested on multiple charges including possession of a controlled substance while armed

McKinleyville, Ca., (KIEM) A traffic stop leads to an arrest of a man in McKinleyville.

Around 12:30 Saturday morning on the 2600 block of Central Avenue. A Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy came in contact with the driver 31-year-old Anthony Workman and his passenger 37-year-old Travis Anderson.

Police say during the stop they searched the vehicle and found a loaded firearm, two magazines with ammunition, suspected MDMA, and suspected cocaine, which all tied back to the passenger.

Anderson was arrested and booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a narcotic, possession of a controlled substance while armed, felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of ammunition, and possession of a large-capacity magazine.

Anderson also had two active felony warrants.

Workman was not arrested however officials say the 31-year-old is on parole.
