CHP Investigating Deceased Motorcyclist on SR-36

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)– California Highway Patrol is investigating a deceased motorcyclist found off of State Route 36 near mile marker 10.7.               

Around 11:45 A.M. Tuesday, CHP was notified by Caltrans of a 2002 Honda motorcycle and a rider located off the edge of the road.

The rider has been identified as 25 year old Steven Johnson of Loleta.

Emergency personnel responded to the scene and determined that the 25 year old had been dead for several days.

Johnson was reported missing on Saturday by the Rio Dell Police Department.

CHP is looking into the collision and asks anyone with information to contact police.
