Humboldt Pediatrics Closes its Doors in November

MCKINLEYVILLE (KIEM) – A pediatrics clinic will be closing up its doors in a few months.

Humboldt Pediatrics serves around 1700 kids. It’s a private practice run by Doctor Sarah Poyen. Humboldt Pediatrics says, there were numerous circumstances that led to this decision. But two main factors were lack of providers and poor reimbursement.

The clinic adds they will not be relocating and the doctors will not be practicing after the closure.

The clinic’s final day is November 22.

Humboldt Pediatrics is advising parents to contact Open Door Member Services, Humboldt IPA, and Humboldt Del Norte Medical Society to establish care with a different provider.
