Athlete of the Week: Isaac Puzz

Isaac Puzz got his first start of the season and the former McKinleyville Panther had his best game against the number four team in the state. Puzz scored 22 points as the Corsairs won 84-80 over Santa Rosa Junior College to claim the Kris Kringle Tournament championship.

Puzz also scored 18 points in the semi-finals of the tournament and was named most valuable player. with the win, the 13 and 3 corsairs extended their season long winning streak to 13 games.

Puzz is one of nine former h-d-n players on the CR roster.  He’s the one that got the ball rolling while at McKinlevyille. He started asking local players about their future and they later all agreed to play together at CR under head coach Ryan Bisio.

Puzz won a league title his junior season at Mack and he hopes to do the same in his first year with the corsairs. They begin conference play January 11 hosting Butte College.
