Woman Stabbed in Face and Chest During Altercation

WILLOW CREEK, Ca. (KIEM) – A Willow Creek woman sustained serious injuries after she was stabbed in the face and chest.

It happened just before midnight on Saturday at a business on the 3800 block of Highway 299 in Willow Creek.

The suspect, 36-year-old Janene Melissa Jackson was placed under arrest.

The Humboldt county sheriff’s office said Jackson and the 21-year-old victim knew each other and got into an argument outside of the business.

Jackson reportedly prevented the victim from leaving and stabbed her with the knife.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries but is expected to recover.

Jackson was booked into the Humboldt County Correctional Facility on charges of assault with a deadly weapon.
