Baseball Fire in Mendocino County grows to 68 acres, 40 percent contained

MENDOCINO COUNTY (KIEM)-Firefighters are battling a wildfire that continues to grow in the Mendocino National Forest.

The Baseball Fire first broke out around noon Tuesday about 15 miles southeast of Covelo near the Atchison campground.

At last check, the fire has burned 68 acres and is 40-percent contained.

Roughly 55 fire personnel are battling the fire including one crew, 3 engines, one water tender, and a helicopter.

There are no immediate threats to property or structures.
