Humboldt County 2nd District Supervisor Update

GARBERVILLE, CA. (KIEM) – It has been 10 days since the Presidential Primary Election and the Humboldt County Second District Supervisor race is still undecided.

The Humboldt County Elections
Office released the most current results and incumbent Estelle Fennell still leads her opponent Michelle Bushnell by 324 votes… In order to win and not go into a runoff, the candidate needs 50% plus one of the vote.

In Garberville today Bushnell told us she is being patient and knows that the Humboldt County Office of Elections has a lot to do. Bushnell owns her own business and will continue to focus on that and the school board which she is a member of.

Fennell told Redwood News her team knew with five people running it would be a challenge to get 50% plus one. Currently, she is extremely busy with a number of issues as chair of the board including the county’s response to the Coronavirus pandemic. If they have to go to a runoff her campaign will take a break before they launch a robust re-election campaign.
