Arcata Fire District brownouts until official closing of one station

EUREKA, Ca (KIEM) – The Arcata Fire District will close its Mad River Station starting tomorrow. The closure is a result of the failure of Measure R, which will result in layoffs and demotions of critical front-line personnel.

The station brownouts will last for eight days and then rotate to the other two stations in the district.

This will result in increased waiting times, therefore residents are urged to call 911 when fire department services are needed.
