Multiple fire crews respond to 4-Alarm fire, Building believed to be total loss

UPDATE

EUREKA, Ca. (KIEM)-Investigators are looking into what caused a Eureka automotive business to go up in flames on Easter Sunday.

Several fire crews responded to a fire at John’s Used Car and Auto Wreckers on the 3000 block of Jacobs Avenue, just before 5 p.m.

When crews arrived on scene, black smoke and flames could be seen coming from the back of the building.

The blaze was quickly upgraded to a 4-Alarm fire before crews were able to extinguish the flames.   

Several agencies throughout Humboldt County responded to the inferno, no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, the initial assessments show the building sustained several hundred thousand dollars worth of damage and is most likely a total loss.

Crews responded to a garage fire on the 3000 block of Jacobs Avenue in Eureka.

Multiple calls came into dispatch about smoke billowing from a garage at the rear of John’s Used Car and Auto Wreckers.

Loleta fire, along with Arcata and Eureka fire personnel, on scene of the the fully engulfed structure fire.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
