CDFW Director Given Authority to Temporarily Suspend Recreational Fishing, If Needed

SACRAMENTO, Ca. (KIEM) – With public health concerns, the California Fish and Game Commission voted unanimously to grant the CDFW Director the ability to temporarily delay, suspend or restrict recreational fishing.

This action is designed to be responsive to local, county-level and tribal needs. The temporary authority expires May 31st, 2020.

First District Supervisor, Rex Bohn believes Humboldt County won’t be facing any suspensions. Bohn said, “Looks like we in Humboldt are going to be okay, as are surrounding counties also. Director Bonham, who I have met multiple times in Sacramento, called Humboldt out specifically saying any enforcement considerations would be made with us being fully involved and in agreement.”
