MCKINLEYVILLE, Ca. (KIEM)- A local senior living facility is trying to keep their residents as upbeat as possible during this difficult time, and they are doing this all from a window.

the Timber Ridge Assisted Living Facility in McKiinleyville is giving seniors the opportunity to still connect with their loved ones even when they can’t see them. Seniors write letters and messages on colored paper for their families to see.

The idea came from Activities Director Kim Mathieson who works with other activity directors nationwide, together, they came up with a simple solution to make the situation better for seniors

Along with the timber ridge facility in McKinleyville, their Eureka location is also doing craft activities to better serve seniors on the North Coast.
