CHP Sees An Increase In Excessive Speeding during Shelter In Place Order

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – The California highway patrol has seen an 87% increase in drivers going over 100 miles per hour since the shelter-in-place order began on March 19.

The number of drivers on the road has decreased overall by approximately 35% compared to this time last year.

The Cal-trans director wants to remind everyone that excessive speed is unsafe for everyone using the highway system.
