High demand for fresh fish, not enough supply

WOODLEY ISLAND, Ca. (KIEM)-Seafood lovers came by the dozens to Woodley Island Tuesday morning for some fresh fish and crab, only thing, it’s all sold out.

Local fishermen are now selling their haul straight off their boats and looking for new ways to make a profit.

This unconventional method of doing business is taking some getting used to, there are no set operational hours and when the inventory is sold out it won’t be replenished until fishermen and women go back out to sea.

For Oceana Hookline Seafood owners, Harrison and Cerise Ibach, selling straight off the pier is new to them.

Their seafood normally heads to high-end restaurants in San Francisco, the coronavirus has shut that down.

Right now, they are one of many fishermen and woman trying to adjust to a new normal.

The Ibach’s say to find out their boat’s schedule, their inventory and when they’re sold out head to their social media page here: https://www.facebook.com/oceanahooknlineseafood/

A couple fishermen spoke to Redwood News to say fresh fish should be in-stock in the next couple of weeks.
