Oregon woman sustains major injuries in solo crash

CRESCENT CITY, Ca (KIEM)-An Oregon woman sustains major injuries after she was ejected from the truck she was driving in Del Norte County.

The California Highway Patrol said just before 5:30 pm Monday, 46 year-old Kelly Haynes of Williams, Oregon was driving a Chevy Silverado southbound on State Route 199 east of Crescent City.

The truck went off the roadway, down a steep embankment and overturned colliding with a tree.

Haynes, who was ejected from the vehicle, was transported to Sutter Coast Hospital and then airlifted to Mercy Medical Center in Redding.

The CHP said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the crash.
