California Department of Public Health, Governor’s Office Release Re-Opening Guidelines for Businesses

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — The Governor Newsom’s Office and the California Department of Public Health releases updated industry guidance for businesses set to begin re-opening Friday.

Retail businesses serving customers by delivery or curbside, as well as their logistics and manufacturing supports, are able to open their doors.

In order to do that, the following measures must be in place. All employees and customers must be wearing facial coverings, adhere to 6 feet of social distancing, provide access to handwashing stations or hand sanitizer, common surfaces must be sanitized frequently, and there must be a plan in place to identify and remove sick employees from the workplace.

According to Humboldt County health officer Dr. Frankovich, the focus right now is on stage 2. How successful that is locally, will determine when we can transition into stage 3.

If you see a business re-opening that is not in compliance and you wish to report it, you can contact the joint information center tip line at (707) 441-3022.
