Last Chance Grade to close U.S. Highway 101 overnight

DEL NORTE COUNTY, Ca (KIEM) – Starting next week, U.S. Highway 101 will close overnight at Last Chance Grade.

The Last Chance Grade Project is an effort to study a permanent solution to instability and roadway failures.

The closure will take place just north of Wilson Creek Bridge, mile marker 13, and extend to Humboldt Road, mile marker 23.8, in Del Norte County.

The overnight closure will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the nights of June 15th to 18th.

Traffic will be piloted through the project every two hours.

There is no detour around the overnight closure.
