Local girl organizes peaceful protest for this coming weekend

FERNDALE, Calif. (KIEM)- One local girl is bringing community members together this Sunday for a peaceful protest in Ferndale. Her inspiration to hold the protest was in light of the recent George Floyd movement and Pride Month.

The protest is expected to begin at 3 p.m. and last until 5 p.m. and will be located at the Town Hall building in Ferndale.  

Ferndale law enforcement will be present at the event to monitor the protest.

If you would like to attend you must bring a mask and stand at least six feet apart from others. Markers will be located in the grass to let people know where they can stand.

The protest will be a platform for community members to speak and share their stories.
