Successful day of racing at Redwood Acres

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM) – Under new ownership, a full slate of racing was held at Redwood Acres while adhering to Humboldt County COVID-19 requirements.

In front of empty stands, six racers drove to victory and took home some hardware. Ben Brown, C.E.O. of Redwood Acres Fairgrounds, said drivers and pit crew members knew what was at stake. He said participants wore masks and social distanced throughout the event.

Redwood Acres has been experiencing financial problems lately, but Brown said it is groups and events like this which will help turn things around for the struggling fairgrounds. After seeing success at the track, there is hope that there will be more racing in the future at Redwood Acres. Brown thought the event ran smoothly and was happy to have drivers out on the track.
