SAMOA, Calif. (KIEM) — Two abandoned vehicles are removed from Samoa Beach thanks to community advocates and two local businesses.

On August 15th, Humboldt County sheriff’s deputies helped the Mercer Fraser Company and Zerlang and Zerlang Marine Services remove the two trucks. Both were previously reported stolen and located at the beach, but could not be removed because they were so severely stuck in the sand. Since being located, the trucks have been stripped, vandalized, and set on fire.

With the help of the 2 local businesses, the sheriff’s office was able to remove the vehicles using a front loader and excavator. The trucks were then recovered by the Eel River Transportation and Salvage Company for disposal.
