PETA Offers $5,000 Reward for Information on Abused Dog

SAMOA, Ca. (KIEM) – People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA)  is offering a $5,000 reward for help in the  search for the people  responsible for shooting a dog and abandoning her in the Samoa Dunes Recreation Area.

This 70-pound dog-, believed to be a mastiff mix, was found with three gunshot wounds just after 10 a.m. on August 24th.

Animal control officers rushed her to a vet for treatment, but due to the extent of her injuries she had to be euthanized.  She did not have a microchip, nor a collar, and was not reported to be missing.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office.
