Man arrested for attempted murder after Myers Flat shooting

MYERS FLAT, Calif. (KIEM) – A man is behind bars after a shooting in Myers Flat leaves one person seriously injured.

Just before 9 Monday night, Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on the 11,400 block of Dyerville Loop Road where they found a 47-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was taken to a local hospital in serious condition.

54-year-old john Michael Sheridan was inside the home and taken into custody. Deputies learned Sheridan and the victim knew each other and had been spending time with each other that night. At some point, there was a disagreement that ended in Sheridan reportedly shooting the victim.  Sheridan is now facing charges for attempted murder.
