Scotia, Calif. (KIEM)-A teenage male is recovering tonight after he was struck by a vehicle while on an all-terrain vehicle.

According to California Highway Patrol’s Sgt. Parker, the fourteen-year-old Scotia teen pulled out in front of a black sedan headed in the same direction, before he was hit.

The collision happened just before 5 p.m. at the intersection of 1st and Main streets in Scotia.

The 61-year-old motorist – also from Scotia – did not have a passenger in the car at the time of the crash.

The teen was taken to Redwood Memorial Hospital for evaluation, and is expected to be OK.

The incident is under investigation, Parker says, alcohol or drugs are not a factor in incident.
