August Complex Fire reaches 1,017,546 acres

HUMBOLDT, MENDOCINO, TRINITY COUNTIES, Ca. (KIEM) – The August Complex Fire has now reached 1,017,546 acres with 62% containment

Firefighters in the south zone are using aviation to surround a 300 acre area outside of the main fire line near the Eel River.

Crews are working to hold dozer lines east of State Route 36 to South Fork Ridge.

And are working to improve and patrol containment lines near Ruth Lake.

Trinity County Sheriff’s Office plans to lift the evacuation order and place the communities of Van Duzen and Mad River under an evacuation warning.
