One person found dead in burned truck

TRINITY COUNTY, Ca. (KIEM) – One person is found dead inside a burned vehicle on State Route 3, North of Hayfork, in Trinity County.

California Highway Patrol were responding to a vegetation fire when they discovered a pick-up truck off the roadway in the burned area.

A body was found inside the cab of the truck after the flames were put out.

California Highway Patrol is working with the Trinity County Sheriff’s Department to identify the person, but due to the condition of the body and vehicle, no I.D. has been made at this time.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the California Highway Patrol office in Weaverville.
