1 new Covid-19 case, 3 more recoveries reported Tuesday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department confirms only one new case of covid-19 Tuesday. This brings the county’s total case count to 568 with health officials currently monitoring 14 active cases.

Humboldt County officially remains in the yellow tier of the state reopening plan this week, but local data for the week of October 17th meets the metrics for the orange tier with a case rate of 2.8. Two consecutive weeks of a case rate greater than 2 would move the county into the orange tier.

Of the total cases, 365 had contact to a known case, 122 were travel related, and 77 a result of community transmission. There are 4 cases under investigation. Three more recoveries have been reported Tuesday as well, bringing that number to 544.
