8 new Covid-19 cases, 7 more recoveries reported since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department confirms eight new cases of Covid-19 since Friday with health officials monitoring 15 active cases.

In the last week, 5 more cases were reported in Northern Humboldt, 2 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 5 more in Southern Humboldt.

As far as the age breakdown of cases, people in their 20’s and people in their 30’s saw the largest weekly increase with 4 new cases each. People in their 40’s and people in their 50’s follow that group with 2 new cases each. 10 to 19 year olds and people in their 60’s each saw one new case in the last week.

The mean age of cases is 36. Fifty percent of cases are among men, 49% are among women, and the gender of 1% of cases is unknown. On a more encouraging note, 7 more recoveries were also reported bringing that number to 554.
