Mobile home destroyed by fire in McKinleyville

MCKINLEYVILLE, Ca. (KIEM) – A woman in McKinleyville is lucky to be alive after her home was destroyed by fire Monday afternoon.

At about 3pm, fire crews arrived on the scene at the 2800 block of McKinleyville Avenue.  A single-wide mobile home was fully engulfed in flames, and the wind was causing the fire to threaten two nearby homes.

Neighbors were able to help the woman to safety.  No injuries were reported.

The home- and the owner’s vehicle were a total loss.  The two, nearby homes were protected by fire crews.
