1 Covid-19 death, 14 additional cases reported in Humboldt County since Friday

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) — The Humboldt County Public Health Department has reported 1 Covid-19 death on Monday. The person was in their 50’s and marks the 36th death reported locally.

Fourteen additional cases have also been reported since Friday. The total case count is now 3,433. Health officials are tracking 87 active cases.

In the last week, 17 more cases were reported in northern Humboldt, 39 more in the greater Humboldt Bay area, and 7 more cases in southern Humboldt. An error in last week’s data as far as case distribution by age group has since been corrected. The largest weekly increase has been in 20 year olds with 18 new cases followed by people 10 to 19 years old with 10 new cases reported.

On a more encouraging note, 26 more recoveries were also reported bringing that total number to 3,310.
