Humboldt State University to hold limited in-person commencement ceremonies for spring 2021

ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM) — Humboldt State University announced it will be hosting a series of limited in-person commencement ceremonies this spring. There will be 3 ceremonies each day, one per college, on Friday May 14th and Saturday May 15th rain or shine.

In order to meet state and county health guidelines, no spectators will be allowed. Attendance is limited to students, faculty, and staff working the event. The graduation events will also be livestreamed. Graduates will need to register by April 21st in order to walk the stage.

“This is an awesome opportunity for students to really celebrate their awesome achievements. We’re always excited when commencement rolls around, but particularly this year. To be able to offer something in person after the challenging year that we’ve gone through is particularly exciting,” according to marketing and communications director and commencement co-coordinator Kristen Gould.

Gould adds that this opportunity is available for both the 2020 and 2021 graduating classes. Any questions can be emailed to grad@humboldt.edu.
