ARCATA, Calif. (KIEM)- Humboldt State University has announced that Jane Teixeira has stepped down as Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreational Sports to focus on serious family matters.

During her time at Humboldt State, Teixeira worked to develop safe approaches for student-athletes to practice during the pandemic and for multiple teams to be able to participate in limited competition in the spring.

She also helped rebrand HSU athletics, consistently stressed the importance of performance in the classroom as well as community involvement and was focused on providing a positive experience for student-athletes ,according to the university.
