US News & World Recognizes St. Joseph’s Hospital in Eureka as “High Performing” for their Variety of Procedures and Treatments

EUREKA, Calif. (KIEM)- Four providence hospitals in Northern California were recognized by US News & World Report and Humboldt County’s St. Joseph’s made the list. They were one of the few listed as high performing for the way doctors and staff treat common, consistent conditions all the way up to medical procedures.

They received this recognition for treating conditions like heart failure, heart attack, kidney failure, colon cancer surgery, and a few more.

The US News & World Report create these hospital rankings by analyzing data that focuses on almost 5,000 hospitals with one goal: where to send patients when they need care. The publication looks at the procedures hospitals perform and the how often common conditions are treated.

“We owe this to the partnership between our nurses, doctors and our leaders. We created these clinical service lines that deliver world class care close to home,” said Dr. Roberta Luskin-Hawk, M.D, Chief Executive for Providence in Humboldt County.”
