Sheriff’s Immigration Report

HUMBOLDT COUNTY, Calif. (KIEM) The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office says that no local jail inmates were turned over to federal immigration authorities last year. That word comes in an annual report from the Sheriff to County Supervisors. The report is required under Measure K, the County’s Sanctuary Law, which was adopted by voters back in 2018. Over the past three years only one jail inmate has been turned over to immigration and that was by order of a federal judge.
