For the rest of our evening hours, we will continue to have mostly cloudy skies for the coastal areas. Inland is looking to have more clear skies with some hazy conditions in Del Norte County. Temperatures will drop to the 50s for overnight lows and winds will be on the calm side. Some areas on the coast can experience patchy fog. Heading into our Thursday, we are looking to have another day of cloudy conditions for the morning along the coast and more sunshine inland, with a bit of sun later in the afternoon along the coastal areas. Temperatures will be in the 60s through 90s for highs and winds will be coming from the northwest around 5-10 miles per hour. Heading into the weekend, not a lot of change until Sunday, when temperatures will drop to the upper 80s to low 90s for highs for the inland cities. The Flat Fire is now over 12 thousand acres burned in Curry county and continues to have no containment. Smoke will continue to move through the mountains and into some of our inland areas. Early morning hours will be the worst when the temperatures are the coolest because the colder air will compress the smoke and make thicker at surface level, while the day time hours will heat up and allow the smoke more room to move around.
