North Coast Weather Forecast: Thursday, August 17th

Getting through the rest of our Thursday evening, we are looking to have mostly cloudy conditions across the North Coast viewing area. Lower-level areas and cities along the coast can expect foggy and misty conditions through the overnight hours. Temperatures will be a slight bit cooler across the region, dropping to the lower 50s to low 60s. Winds are expected to be on the calm side. Heading into our Friday, we will have similar conditions, with mostly cloudy skies and a few isolated showers and storms popping up across the region. Temperatures will be in the mid 60s to low 100s and winds will be coming from the northwest around five to ten miles per hour. We will continue to have lingering haze around the North Coast. Some of us could have a few peeks of sunshine. This weekend will provide slightly cooler temperatures compared to earlier this week, with highs in the 60s through 100s. A mix of sun and clouds can be expected. Cooler temperatures will be in the region by next week, with highs inland dropping to the upper 80s. More scattered showers and isolated storms will move through the North Coast. Looking a bit ahead and to the south, we are keeping an eye on Hurricane Hilary, as the system moves along the coast line in the Pacific. Currently at a category two, but has potential to increase to a category 4 before hitting south California. At this time, it isn’t expected to reach the North Coast, but if the system shifts to the left at all while getting closer to the US, we could have a tropical system moving through our viewing area by next week Tuesday or Wednesday.
