REDWOOD NEWSMAKERS: The Rotary Club of Southwest Eureka is known for their charitable humanitarian efforts, both here in our local communities and all around the world. But they are also known for their fun and fantastical fundraisers. Perfectly fitting for fall Time Follies is their upcoming best of the worst event here at the Lodge on Herrick Avenue in Eureka. Peter Fuller, you have some explaining to do. What is the best of the WURST?
PETER FULLER SOUTHWEST EUREKA ROTARY: The Best of the Wurst is our signature Rotary event that we’ve been putting on for years. It’s a dinner that benefits a great cause to the delight of bright fans everywhere.
REDWOOD NEWSMAKERS: You know, we brought our little, teeny, tiny grill here so that you can grill up these for Pat the producer. What are you going to be serving with the bratwurst?
PETER FULLER SOUTHWEST EUREKA ROTARY : The menu is incredible. In addition to the sausage, we have sauerkraut, German potato salad and a big pretzel.
REDWOOD NEWSMAKERS: And they’re huge. Huge. I’ve seen pictures of them. Can you tell us what the best of the worst event is benefiting this year?
PETER FULLER SOUTHWEST EUREKA ROTARY : Yes, this year we’re benefiting the Redwood adult and Teen Challenge. Some of their volunteers will actually be here at the event so you can meet some of the workers here.
REDWOOD NEWSMAKERS: What does their organization do?
PETER FULLER SOUTHWEST EUREKA ROTARY: They provide great help to people who are caught in drug addictions and get them off drugs and back into being productive members of society.
REDWOOD NEWS That’s great. How much are the tickets to the event and where can you get them?
