HUMBOLDT COUNTY CANDIDATE QUESTIONNAIRE: 3RD DISTRICT SUPERVISOR

play-sharp-fill

The Greater Eureka Chamber of Commerce asked Humboldt County Supervisor candidates about local concerns and specific steps they would take to address them if elected.

One that is especially pressing is expanding the access to affordable housing.

The chamber asked how each candidate would make housing more accessible.

In the race for 3rd district supervisor, (Incumbent) Mike Wilson stated:

“This is a problem many decades in the making. I strongly advocate for short term solutions, such as a housing trust fund, as well as long term solutions including more building entitlements in areas with services and community.”

Challenger, Roy Gomez said:

“We live in a very rural area with a population that does not require certain exemptions related to ‘density’…  I will encourage mixed-income housing projects, which incorporate both affordable and market-rate units.”
