NCRA approves projects and addresses legal fees

Eureka, Ca. (KIEM) – The North Coast Railroad Authority says time is of the essence because, in a matter of a few years, the authority will focus their efforts on trails, not rails.

Nearly fifty people gathered for today’s meeting at the Humboldt County Supervisors Chamber. The project known as the Annie and Mary Trail in Blue Lake will continue to move forward. Along with a new recreational activity where you can pedal a rail bike, along the bay. However, the NCRA is facing accusations of environmental harm for its out-of-commission North Coast Rail Line along.

Friends of the Eel River and Californians for Alternatives to Toxics successfully sued the NCRA for nearly 1.9 million dollars. Ways to resolve the issue was discussed during closed session.
