Bridgeville Fuels Reduction Project

BRIDGEVILLE (KIEM)– Cal Fire Humboldt- Del Norte unit crews have completed the Bridgeville fuels reduction project.

The project was part of an executive order for Cal Fire to complete fuels reduction projects to reduce the effects of catastrophic fires.

Bridgeville was identified as a community at risk on the 2001 federal register for treatment in the Humboldt County Community Wildfire Protection Plan.

The project extends defensible space around key community structures by removing fuels through chipping, lop and scatter techniques.
