Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury releases last report

HUMBOLDT COUNTY (KIEM)- The Humboldt County Civil Grand Jury has released their fifth and final report.

The Grand Jury decided to investigate reports of Humboldt County Governments independent consultants’ audit and the ACO.

The jury determined areas where recommendations in the audits have not been fully implemented, and found the ACO encountered a lack of cooperation from county staff to carry out its legal responsibilities.

They also learned proper training is lacking in county departments regarding the government accounting requirements and opportunity for fraud, due to poor cash handling policies and procedures.
