PG&E Continues Power Line Inspections in Humboldt County

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM) — PG&E continues to inspect power lines in high fire-threat areas of Humboldt County using helicopters equipped with light detection and ranging technology.

According to PG&E, helicopters will be flying at an altitude of 300 feet above ground and will not go lower. They understand people are not used to seeing them fly that low, bust ask for the community’s cooperation and patience.

They will be using 2 helicopters Monday through Sunday from 9 am through 5 pm. Residents will receive an automated phone call ahead of scheduled flights in their area.

The company plans to continue their inspections until august 8th. PG&E says they have completed their inspections in Lake and Mendocino counties.
