HCSO Carries Out Countywide Operation Targeting Illegal Cannabis Cultivation

Humboldt County, Ca. (KIEM)— The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office Marijuana Enforcement Team carries out a 4 day, a countywide operation targeting large scale illegal cannabis cultivation. A total of 16 search warrants were served on 18 parcels.

Deputies eradicated roughly 40,000 growing cannabis plants and seized over 2,300 pounds of processed cannabis. None of the properties were permitted for cannabis cultivation. Methamphetamine, opium, butane hash oil, and 8 firearms were also seized.

Several suspects were identified and two were arrested. Charges are being sent to the District Attorney’s office, but no names have been released.
