Humboldt Livestock Deputy picks up abandoned mare in Fortuna

FORTUNA, CA. (KIEM) – The Livestock Deputy with the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office picks up an abandoned mare.

Wednesday morning, an 18-year-old Palomino mare was found alone in the 500 block of Tompkins Hill Road in Fortuna.

The Sheriff’s Office says they don’t know who the mare belongs to, and are referring to her as Abby.

They took Abby to the vet, and say she is in good hands for now at the Sheriff’s Farm.
