ARCATA – Local artists were hard at work on Saturday, transforming the Arcata Plaza into a colorful art gallery.

Northcoast Children’s Services partnered up with local businesses in the community to raise money for nearly 1,000 low income children and families in the Humboldt and Del Norte counties. Businesses sponsored sidewalk squares and artists donated their time and creativity to turn the surrounding plaza sidewalk area into colorful art displays. This event started in 1987 and has turned into one of the major fundraisers for Northcoast Children’s Services. Artist Hannah Burgard is here for her second year and says the whole community is really supportive of this event.
