HSU launches new tool to explore campus budget

ARCATA – Facing questions from the community, Humboldt State University is now offering a closer look at its budget.
Humboldt State has seen declining enrollment at the same time the community is attempting to raise half a million dollars a year for five years to keep athletics programs running.
Wednesday, the University Budget Office released a new tool in an attempt to enable better understanding of the campus’s financial situation.
The interactive ‘Open Book’ website will show up to five years of accounting history.
‘Open Book’ only shows budget information and not actual revenues and expenditures.
The Budget Office expects to expand the site with additional information in the future.
